How syncing works
- Read-only. The connection can read your orders and nothing else. It cannot trade, move money or change your account.
- Stocks, ETFs and options. Futures and prop-firm accounts are not covered yet — keep importing those from a CSV.
- Closed trades only. Buys and sells are paired into round trips; scale-ins and scale-outs become one trade. A position you still hold shows up once you close it. The first sync reaches back 30 days.
- It syncs on its own. Every market day after the US close (4:15 PM New York time) your trades are pulled in for you — they are waiting the next time you open the journal.
- Sync now, once a day. For when you want today's trades before that. Press it when you are done trading — it is the end of your session, not a refresh button.
- P/L is before commissions. Brokers report fees a day later and separately; synced trades do not include them yet.
- Disconnecting keeps your trades. It only stops new ones arriving, and removes the link at SnapTrade.

Your broker's trade-history export — a raw fill/execution log works too: buys and sells are paired into trades automatically, and scale-outs at multiple targets are merged into one trade. The file is previewed before anything is saved.
